Volatility is such a critical factor to markets and price actions, and Larry Connor's work here digs dep into the subject. he presents many ideas on how to use the VIX, most of which consider VIX price action and where the index is trading relative to it's moving averages. Connors backs up his work with statistics from testing, but the reader considering implementing these methods would be wise to test them further, as some circles believe that the usefulness of the VIX Index as a forecasting tool has degraded recently.
